PRACTICING:
Band members - get in the habit of playing your instruments for a short time
several times a week outside of school. Just a few minutes a night as
part of
your routine can make a tremendous difference in your band experience.

In order to make practice more interesting and successful, here are FIVE
STEPS TO PERFECT PRACTICE!:

1. Say rhythm words and clap (ta, titi, shh, etc....)

2. Count out loud and clap (1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and)

3. Touch the notes and say the note names

4. Finger/slide notes and say note names

5. PLAY!
