History of National Honor Society |

chapter of the National Honor Society was formed at Calvert High School
in the academic year of 1969-1970 at the request of the principal, Rev.
Frank E. Nieset. |

The
chapter was offcially established as a member of the National Honor Society
of Secondary Schools when the charter was received at the school on November
10, 1969. |

Objectives for A.J. Gallagher Chapter of NHS Established in 1921, the National Honor Society has worked to bring the accomplishments of outstanding high school students to the attention of their classmates, their parents, their communities and the colleges they plan to attend. The National Honor Society strives to give practical meaning to the society's dedication to character, scholarship, leadership, and service. |
