Art 1
Art I is a beginning course in the fine arts designed to introduce students to the
fundamental elements and principles of art and art production. Students will
explore a variety of media and techniques through completion of class projects
with an emphasis on good drawing skills. Student work is evaluated by objectives
defined prior to the start of each assignment as well as by class participation.
Subject areas may include the following:
* Drawing-Pencil, Pen & Ink, Pastel
* Painting-Tempera, Watercolor
* Printmaking-Stamping, Linoleum
* Sculpture/Ceramics-Paper-mache, Hand-building
* Crafts-Fibers, Collage, Papermaking

General Class Guidelines:
* Be at table ready for prayer when the bell rings
* Put all bags on counter
* Respect classmates' ideas and suggestions
* Be willing to try new ideas
* Respect all others when taking turns to speak
* Think before you speak
* Use all class time wisely
* Always clean up and return all materials when finished
