Personal Information

Mr. Scott Brickner was raised in Tiffin, Ohio. He attended Calvert High

School and was involved in golf and swim team. Mr. Brickner was

on the golf team for four years. When he was on the team in 1986, they

were the MAL Champs. Mr. Brickner spent two years on the swim team.

Later, Mr. Brickner went to college at Heidelberg, and had many accomplishments.

He made the Dean's List seven consecutive times with a GPA of 3.8 in

his major, and 3.5 accumulative. He majored in Education, History, Business

Administration, and Political Sciences.

Mr. Brickner received two Bachelor of Arts degrees. While at Heidelberg,

he played on the Varsity Golf Team. Mr. Brickner is starting a Masters of

Education degree at Heidelberg College in January. He plans to finish

his Masters in Education, and possibly start a Masters in American History.

Mr. Brickner's family has a long history with Calvert High School,

all being Calvert Graduates. His Grandmother was part of the second

graduating class from Calvert in 1928. In his free time, Mr. Brickner enjoys

playing golf, reading, traveling, and swimming. He has traveled across

America extensively, including swimming in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic

Ocean, and Gulf of Mexico. The highlight of his travels has been watching

whales from the Golden Gate Bridge.

 

 

Teaching Career

Mr. Brickner also has a long history with Calvert High School. He graduated

from Calvert and later returned as a student teacher in 2001. Now, he

is teaching for his eight year here at Calvert. Mr. Brickner expects his

students to be honest and have integrity. He also expects students to have

a desire to expand their minds past their own realm of existence.

 

 

Classes

Mr. Brickner teaches Civics, Contemporary American History, and Government.

 

 

Coaching Career

Mr. Brickner is the Calvert Golf coach. He played golf and swimming in high

school and still enjoys those activities today. He expects his athletes to

have integrity and sportsmanship. He also expects a "Never Give Up" attitude

from his players which will drive them to push themselves to greatness.

Mr. Brickner says that his goal is to help coach Calvert to a second State

Championship in golf.

 

 

Special Recognition

Mr. Brickner has been awarded the Who's Who of American Teachers in 2003,

and the MAL Coach of the Year for golf in 2002.
